Cider brand Thatchers took the late May bank holiday weekend to the “next level” with a hot air balloon-themed activation featuring Radio X DJ Sunta Templeton.
The Somerset brand’s stunt saw Templeton take to the skies above its native county to broadcast a “once in a lifetime DJ set” on Friday evening to ring in the long weekend.
This latest partnership is intended to cement Thatchers Haze’s association with summer music sessions, routinely pairing with festivals and venues across the country each year.

“At Thatchers, we’re all about crafting top-quality cider that brings people together and lifts any occasion, so where better to take our naturally cloudy cider than up into the clouds,” said Martin Thatcher, MD of Thatchers Cider.

“Partnering with the Radio X team to blast the iconic Friday Horn from thousands of feet in the air was the perfect way to start the glorious bank holiday weekend and kick off British Cider Time.”
The activation formed part of the cider firm’s month-long sponsorship of the radio station’s drivetime show, which also included competitions allowing listeners to win prizes such as a Somerset stay and cider tour, and festival tickets.
Sunta Templeton added: “We’ve had some big Friday Horns in our time but this one was literally next level. Partnering with Thatchers Haze just makes sense. We’re both about banging tunes and celebrating the end of the working day.”
