Advertising Week Europe (AWE) 2025 is underway with thousands of delegates heading through the doors for the third and final day.

More than 50 sessions are due to take place today (3 April). One anticipated highlight was a visit by Fire (Montell Douglas) and Nitro (Harry Aikines-Aryeetey) from Gladiators, as well as the BBC execs behind the hit Saturday night show.

Staged at 180 Studios, The Strand, London, AWE 2025 opened with a discussion on the data-driven advertising strategies employed by marketplace Carwow and the firm’s new partnership with ITV.

There was also a lively, and musical, speed mentoring session, hosted by André Spence, founder of Global Purpose Enterprise, which uses AI to connect mentees with mentors.

The industry figures on hand comprise business founders, podcasters and influencers. Spence told delegates 83% of creative talent lacks mentors, costing the economy £24 billion annually.

“Think Tinder for mentorship,” said Spence.

Later in the day, Michelle Spillane, managing director of marketing at betting firm Paddy Power is due to discuss the “craft behind the laughs”. She will tell Luke Till, creative director at BBH Dublin, how the bookmaker utilises its “mischievous side” to connect with customers.

In the afternoon, Louise DiIulio, chief client officer at Advertising Week, is scheduled to speak to Virginie Chesnais, chief marketing officer at ad analytics firm Happydemics about “why it’s time to put brands back at the centre” of campaigns.
