Broadcaster Sky Sports is turning footage of some of the world’s biggest golfers into works of art ahead of its coverage of the US Masters at Augusta next month.

Crafted by its in-house agency Sky Creative, the campaign focuses on “masters at work”, and features Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry and Bryson DeChambeau.

Narrated by Sky Sports golf commentator Andrew Coltart, the ad states: “Every masterpiece starts with a single stroke”.

Before continuing: “For the masters, Augusta is their canvas.”

“This is a beautifully simple idea that needed to be beautifully executed,” said Robin Garton, Sky Creative’s ECD of advertising.

“There is a breadth of skillsets within Sky Creative that means we can deliver the whole creative process here, with the collaboration between departments meaning we get the right talent working really closely together for an outcome that is exactly that – beautiful.”

Designed to build anticipation for one of the golfing calendar’s biggest weekends, the work will be supported by out-of-home activity.

Sky Ireland marketing and brand director, Caroline Donnellan added: “The Masters is a significant event for golf fans each year, and we wanted this campaign to bring the magic of Augusta to life for fans throughout the nation.

“To achieve this, we’ve transformed golf into art, celebrating the mastery of Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, Bryson DeChambeau and more.”
