KP snack brand Butterkist has unveiled two new ads to highlight how its popcorn is the perfect accompaniment to movie night.

Part of the ‘Go Grab Butterkist’ brand platform, the campaign will run across video-on-demand and social media channels.

The marketing drive will use the tag line: “For every movie moment: go grab the Butterkist”.

Devised by creative agency St Luke’s, the campaign is made up of two hero spots, ‘Romance’ and ‘Horror’.

‘Romance’ shows a woman being reunited with the lover she thought was dead. The ad switches perspectives to show a couple hosting a movie night, watching the scene on screen.

The second spot, ‘Horror’ follows a man who is running through a dark forest, chased by a monster off-screen. The audience soon realises it is a movie, with the scene switching to show three flatmates on the sofa sharing a bag of Butterkist.

Both spots feature voiceovers from British voice actor Redd Pepper, aka ‘Mr Movie Trailer Man’.

Rachael Rayner, Brand Manager at KP Snacks, said: “We know that Butterkist is the nation’s favourite popcorn brand, and we are keen to reinforce the brand’s position as the must-have snack for movie nights in with family and friends. What better way to bring this to life than building on classic movie moments and the reactions of those enjoying it from their sofa with Butterkist.”

Alongside the video spots, the brand has created social media content running on TikTok and Meta.
