Sports brand Footasylum celebrated its sponsorship of Sidemen’s charity football match with a new campaign film.
Created by Sam Ewen, of production house After Party Studios, the marketing drive was entitled ‘Spec’s Revenge’ and featured creators Specs Gonzalez and PK Humble.
The pair plot revenge against YouTube collective Sidemen after they embarrassed Gonzalez in their reality series, Inside. They try to ruin the Sidemen’s matchday by any means possible, resorting to increasingly desperate measures.
Howard Tattersall, chief marketing officer at Footasylum said: “As soon as the opportunity came up to partner with Sidemen, it was a no brainer. It is a pleasure to work with industry stalwarts After Party Studios to assist in bringing our content from match day to life.”

“Fast, funny and a little bit furious, Specs’ Revenge reflects the content that a next gen audience loves, a demographic we know intrinsically,” he added.
The match, which took place at London’s Wembley Stadium, raised £4.7 million for Bright Side and BBC Children in need.
Specs Gonzales added: “This weekend’s Sidemen match at Wembley was one of the biggest in YouTube’s history, so no better time to seek my revenge on the boys.
“Jokes aside, it’s been a lot of fun pulling this together with my long-term partners in FootAsylum and After Party Studios, who have been very supportive and it’s exciting to finally see them come together for YouTube greatness.“
