Investment platform InvestEngine parodies bad online investment advice in its new ad.
Devised by creative studio Small World, the campaign titled ‘Invest Smarter Than Them’ was created after an insight from the Financial Times showed 90 to 99% of investors underperform.
The spot features a finance bro, dressed in the “quintessential” finance uniform – a gillet – giving bad financial advice.
Adam Lees, head of marketing at InvestEngine said: “Investing is full of unnecessary obstacles, from high fees to confusing platforms and unsuitable risk. At InvestEngine, we’ve built a smarter way to invest, and while our community knows this, we needed to tell the rest of the UK.”

“That’s where the brilliant guys at Small World, Craft Media London & Annex Media came in. With just the right amount of humour, we were able to highlight the contrast between outdated investing and InvestEngine’s approach,” he added.
The campaign will run across video-on-demand, social media channels and out-of-home across the London Underground and National Rail. It is supported by mid-funnel and lower-funnel spending across PR, performance and influencer channels.
Sadia Noor, creative partner at Small World, said “We curated the perfect, financially savvy creative team to uncover something truly valuable, a genuine human truth in the investment landscape. That’s how we were able to position InvestEngine uniquely as perhaps the only investment platform genuinely looking out for your financial future.”
