Direct Line’s interim chief marketing officer Sam Day is set to depart the insurance business for German car marketplace Mobile.de, joining on 1 April.
During his time at the London-based insurance outfit, Day handled a wide-ranging creative review which ended in the appointment of creative agency VCCP.
In his new role, Day will work as Mobile.de’s new chief audience and growth officer, overseeing the brand’s marketing activity across its consumer and dealer branches.

Day joined Direct Line a year ago to take up the interim CMO position, overseeing its portfolio of brands which includes Churchill and Green Flag. Prior to this, he had six years at Confused.com.
