Creative agency TMW has promoted three senior staff members to executive positions.

According to the agency, the promotions reflect a “sustained period of commercial and creative success” for TMW.

Steve Garside has been promoted to chief growth officer, Karen Morris has been named chief client officer and Phil Rhodes has been promoted to executive creative director.

Garside first joined TMW in 2021 as the divisional head of new business and marketing. Under his leadership, the agency has won over 40 new clients in the past two years including Suzuki’s integrated creative account and McDonald’s CRM. As part of his new role, Garside will be expected to continue to attract new business.

“The past few years working at TMW have been packed with career highlights. Huge wins and huge growth, underpinned by a truly special culture. Fortunately, there are still so many incredible opportunities out there where we can continue to transform brands’ businesses with our approach,” said Garside.

Morris was promoted after helping the business to achieve four years of double-digit percentage growth. She was also responsible for helping the agency to receive a high client satisfaction score.

“I am absolutely delighted to be stepping into the role of Chief Client Officer for an agency that I love and am extremely proud of. TMW could not be in a better place right now. Our work is being recognised across the industry, we have happy clients, we are winning pitches and are now part of the Accenture Song family. I can’t wait to see what the year ahead holds for our people, agency and clients,” said Morris.

Rhodes heads up several of the agency’s creative accounts including the King’s Trust, Pride in London, and Rail Delivery Group.

“It’s a privilege for me to help lead the extraordinarily talented creative team we have here at TMW. Our continued success is a testament to the creativity, craft, and dedication we bring to every project for every client. And I’m excited to see what new spaces this helps us push into,” said Rhodes.

In his new role, he will continue to report to TMW’s chief creative officer Graeme Noble and have broader responsibilities across the agency.

TMW managing director Emma Norman said: “Talent has always been both our calling card as an agency and the fuel for our success. Brilliant people produce brilliant work and inspire our clients to trust us with more. Our success has been driven by nurturing talent, embracing fresh ideas and creating an environment where everyone can bring their full selves to work – Steve, Karen and Phil, as well as being perfect examples of that, are also inspiring and respected senior leaders across the business and this recognition is very well deserved.”

The appointments are among more than twenty promotions announced in January.
