A High Court judge has approved the takeover of Tango maker Britvic by Danish brewery group Carlsberg, in a £3.3 billion deal.
Mr Justice Hildyard approved the takeover during a short hearing yesterday (15 January). He said the takeover “could be and should be approved”.
Based in Hemel Hampstead Britvic, which also owns brands Robinson’s Squash and J20, has around 4,500 employees.

The deal was originally announced in July 2024.
Britvic holds an exclusive licence with Pepsico to make and sell products such as Pepsi, 7up, and Lipton Ice Tea in the UK region, which will continue under its new ownership.
The hearing heard that the deal will see Britvic taken over by Carlsberg UK Holdings, a subsidiary of Carlsberg A/S.
Britvic shareholders approved the acquisition in August 2024 and the Competition and Markets Authority gave its approval in December.
