Trint, an AI-powered transcription software platform, has launched a new video campaign to mark its 10th anniversary. The campaign is a nostalgic journey through the company’s evolution from a small startup to a global tech brand.
Trint was founded by Emmy-award-winning journalist Jeff Kofman and three developers. It now has a team of more than 80 employees across Canada and the UK, serving media organisations worldwide.
“A decade ago, I saw an opportunity to leverage emerging AI speech-to-text to transform that workflow,” said Kofman. His 30-year career as a journalist, covering events such as the Libyan Revolution and the Chilean miners’ rescue, highlighted the need for efficient transcription tools.

The company has since expanded its offerings beyond transcription, adding features such as translation, cross-Trint search functionality and support for multiple languages. In 2024, the company launched a multilingual live transcription mobile app, capable of real-time transcription in more than 40 languages.
The anniversary video, created using Trint’s own Story Builder, showcases the platform’s capabilities and reflects on the company’s journey.
“A decade ago, if you told me I’d morph from journalist and foreign correspondent to building a tech company – I probably would have smiled in disbelief,” Koffman said, “But now, 10 years on, I couldn’t be prouder of what Trint has become.”
