Hull and East Yorkshire communications provider KCOM has launched an integrated marketing campaign to introduce Eero – an award-winning Amazon subsidiary router that claims to deliver world-class connectivity.

Leeds-based brand and communications agency Ponderosa has created the campaign.

The campaign, The Power is All Yours, was developed in response to brand tracking that revealed consumers feel powerless when their broadband is unreliable. Ponderosa’s concept highlight’s KCOM’s investment in enhanced broadband, cutting-edge security standards and mesh technology for comprehensive wifi coverage.

The campaign features Nan, a tech-savvy hipster grandmother who enjoys watching Love Island and controlling her online profile. It educates customers on Eero’s smart technology, which allows users to control multiple aspects of their home broadband, including blocking devices to prioritise homework, setting age restriction filters and creating guest wifi accounts.

The campaign has been deployed across various media channels, including terrestrial TV, cinema, bus sides and social media platforms

Ponderosa developed the proposition, storyboard, and creative concepts, collaborating with AMS Media for planning and media buying and Tungston Media for production and post-production.

“Ponderosa have proved again they have the insight, creativity and hands-on execution to deliver for KCOM. It’s been great to see customers respond to our new campaign and explore the possibilities offered by Eero,” said Suzanne Harvey, head of marketing at KCOM.

As a Yorkshire brand, it was important for us to get the tone right so that the audience can relate to the characters and storyline, whilst being educated on the shift to Eero,” Richard Midgley, Ponderosa CEO, added.
