Singer and celebrity Katherine Jenkins has revealed that she will be the special guest in the latest M&S Christmas TV ad.

Jenkins, via Instagram, said: “The cat’s out the bag! I am thrilled to be joining the fabulous Dawn French in the latest @marksandspencerfood Christmas advert.”

The singer will feature in M&S’s fifth Christmas TV ad, with her “spellbinding vocals,” singing Deck the Halls alongside a Christmas choir.

The latest ad follows M&S Food’s Christmas campaign launch in November, which became the retailer’s best-performing post ever on Instagram with over six million views.

The singer first revealed the news about her special guest appearance to an audience during her Christmas concert at the Royal Albert Hall.

The advert features Dawn and Fairy exploring M&S’s “mouth-watering” dessert selection, including the Collection Raspberry & Pistachio Roulade and Our Best Ever Yule Log.

As Dawn declares she’s feeling sufficiently festive, an enchanting sound fills the air, and Jenkins, who is an M&S food ambassador, makes an appearance alongside a Christmas choir, prompting Dawn to exclaim “She IS Christmas, isn’t she!”

Jenkins said: “Singing at Christmas is always such a special experience for me, and to bring that joy to M&S’s magical advert was truly an honour. M&S Food is always at the heart of any celebration for me and my family, offering everything to make every moment extra special.

“As a Food ambassador, I’m so delighted to be part of the M&S family, especially with my Cygnet gin stocked in 200 stores nationwide. I’m thrilled to have played a part in this iconic campaign alongside Dawn and Fairy!”

The ad will air on December 17.

In October this year, the Football Association withdrew a joint campaign with M&S Food which starred British rapper and YouTuber Yung Filly, following his arrest for rape and sexual assault in Australia.

Earlier this year, M&S unveiled the second phase of M&S’ 2024 Big Autumn Energy campaign, with a seasonal ad focusing on its latest menswear collection.
