Media agency Croud UK has reported that its chief executive Jon King and chief operating officer Sophie Wooller will both leave the company at the end of January 2025.

King joined the agency in January 2022 as group general manager and was promoted to group chief operating officer in 2023. He was promoted again to UK CEO, a role previously held by agency founder Luke Smith.

Before joining Croud UK, King founded the consulting firm Red Thread Digital. He has also held roles at Publicis agency Performics, Possible which is now VML, and Virgin Media Television

The departures come after Croud sold a majority stake to private equity investor ECI in October, in a deal worth £180 million.

A spokesperson for Croud UK said: “It has been a big year for Croud with the announcement of ECI as our new investment partners earlier this quarter.

“We would like to thank Jon and Sophie for being part of this transition. Jon and Sophie have been key players in the Croud journey and fulfilled a number of key roles in the business. We wish them all the best in their future endeavours.”

Wooller joined Croud In November 2020 as director of digital transformation, and was promoted to UK chief operating officer in June 2023. She had previously held positions at Dentsu, first as strategy director and then head of consultancy in two different stints. She has also previously worked at iProspect.

Before joining the marketing industry, Wooller worked as a financial analyst, having worked on the 2021 London Olympics and as a senior consultant at Deloitte.
