Scottish comedian Fern Brady has landed herself in hot water with the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) after one of her promotional posters was accused of ‘mocking the Christian faith’.
Created to promote her latest tour, the poster features a mock-up of the comedian squirting breast milk onto a man dressed-up in what appears to be religious clothing.
In the creative, she can be seen standing next to a stained glass window that reads “I gave you milk to drink”, a direct quote from the New Testament’s First Epistle to the Corinthians.

In a statement, the watchdog confirm that it had received a complaint concerning the paid-for online ad, and that it would publish its findings in due course following an investigation.
On the matter, an ASA spokesperson said: “The complainant has challenged whether the ad is offensive because they believe it mocks the Christian faith. We have launched a formal investigation. But no decision has been reached on whether the ad breaks the UK advertising rules.”
For her part, Brady has acknowledge the extra media attention that the investigation has given her tour, writing on social media: “Whoever complained about the poster, thanks a lot.”
