Supercell, the Finnish game developer behind Clash of Clans and Clash Royale, has enlisted movie stars Chris Hemsworth, Christina Ricci and Ken Jeong for a star-studded new campaign.

Created by London-based Uncommon Creative Studio, the five-minute film also features Arrested Development star Will Arnett and Moana actress Auli’i Cravalho to promote ‘Squad Busters’, the firm’s first game launch in over five years.

The ‘Squad Up’ creative sees the unlikely cast join forces to help bring fun and excitement to an ordinary man’s day as he battles through a job interview, before they all engage in a spot of car pool karaoke to the tune of Nickelback’s ‘How You Remind Me.’

“After an incredible response to the global announcement of Squad Busters, we’re thrilled that players worldwide will all now be able to enjoy the game. Our game teams have a massively high-quality bar for releasing new games, which on the flip side means they kill most of the games they work on. This has meant we haven’t launched a new game for over five years,” Supercell CEO Ilkka Paananen said.

“That’s why this moment, the launch of Squad Busters, feels so special…To mark this launch, our team wanted to create a show-stopping moment, so it felt fitting to have Hollywood icons face off against social media stars in a fun way, showing that life really is more fun when you’re with a squad.”

The action-packed short even finds time to pack in a confrontation between the all-star squad and rival posse of influencer personalities including TikTok influencer Bella Poarch, woodcutter Thoren Bradley, lip-syncing celebrity Gabriela Moura and YouTuber ZHC.
