Pablo poaches Adam&EveDDB and Special Group creative directors

Pablo has poached a trio of creative directors from top international agencies, with Mark Lewis and Matt Fitch joining from Adam&EveDDB and David Shirley from Special Group New Zealand.

All three will join the independent London agency as creative directors, following on from the appointment of Lisa Stoney as deputy chief strategy officer and Emma Stafford as planning director.

Having spent close to a decade at local rival Adam&EveDDB, Lewis and Fitch have produced a range of major campaigns including Marmite’s ‘Mind Control’ and ITV’s ‘Eat Them to Defeat Them’. Both had previously spent over five years at BBH.

“We’ve had our eye on Pablo for a while. They’re a forward-thinking, creative-led agency with big ambitions, and we wanted to be part of that. It’s an exciting time to join and it feels like anything is possible,” Fitch said.

Joining all the way the way from Auckland, antipodean Shirley will now work alongside creative director Charlie Gee as his new creative partner, marking his first post outside of his native New Zealand.

Shirley added: “Pablo is an agency with ambition. A desire to make work that’s truly surprising and original. The kind of stuff that puts a dent in the world. So, when they invited me to fly from down under to up over and join them – I mean, I’d be crazy not to, right?”

Concluding, Pablo ECD Dan Watts said: “For my birthday recently, my partner bought me a fire extinguisher for the kitchen. No joke. Luckily Matt, Mark and David also agreed to join us that same week – the greatest gift. We look forward to their world-class brains setting alight the next chapter of Pablo.”
