Omnicom Media Group UK names new CEO

Omnicom Media Group, one of the world’s largest advertising companies, has named Laura Fenton as the chief executive officer (CEO) of its UK division.

Fenton leaves her post as the CEO of Omnicom (OMG)-owned OMD UK, where she has worked in numerous roles over the past nine years, and will now be tasked with leading OMG’s strategy and operations.

She will also oversee the development and adoption of transformative capabilities to support OMG UK’s agency portfolio, which includes OMD, PHD, Hearts & Science and Annalect.

“My experience at OMD – first as Managing Director and then as CEO – has provided invaluable insight into what agencies need from the group, as well as the group’s primary mission in service to the agencies,” Fenton said.

“Our agencies’ success is based on our ability to deliver on OMG’s Agency as a Platform offer – connecting media, content and commerce to create future forward solutions. Fenton will take up her role later next month, reporting to the outgoing Dan Clays, who is poised take over as CEO of OMG EMEA, having held his post at OMG UK for the past four years.

Clays added: “As the CEO of OMD UK, Laura has driven growth across all key metrics, delivering close to US$300m in net new billings, expanding the agency’s business transformation offer, and building a collaborative culture of opportunity.”
