LoSalt partners with Nutracheck to warn Britons about their dangerously high salt intake

Reduced sodium salt brand LoSalt has this week partnered with nutrition app Nutracheck as part of Salt Awareness Week (15-21 May).

The collaboration centres around the ‘Stick to 6 challenge’, which encourages participants to track their salt intake for 7 days via a free trial of the health app.

The challenge has been launched to raise awareness of the negative effects of the over-consumption of salt, which can increase the risk of of high blood pressure, heart attack and stroke. The current average daily intake of 8.4g is 40% above the recommended intake of 6g.

“At LoSalt we are wholly invested in driving forward the salt reduction conversation amongst shoppers and the industry – to better the health of the nation as a whole,” LoSalt technical sales and marketing director, Caroline Klinge said.

“We hope the new ‘Stick to 6 Challenge’ will raise awareness amongst consumers of the importance of monitoring salt intake, encouraging and empowering more people to stick to the maximum recommended intake of 6g of salt a day – in Salt Awareness Week, and beyond.”
