VMLY&R poaches VCCP strategy director

VMLY&R has appointed Kate Nettleton as its new UK head of planning, who will report to UK chief strategy officer Anna Vogt.

Nettleton will leave her role as group strategy director at agency VCCP and will soon be responsible for leading VMLYR’s integrated strategy department.

While working for VCCP, Nettleton looked after the Transport for London (TfL) account and also led work for brands such as Dominoes.

Prior to her time spent at VCCP, VMLYR’s new UK head of planning worked for Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH) and Sky Creative Agency.

“It feels like my career has come full circle, back to an agency with vastly different capabilities but the same passion for creativity and effectiveness excellence as the one I left many years ago,” Nettleton told Campaign Live.

“I am going to relish the opportunity to help Anna continue to build a best-in-class strategy department that can apply its unique firepower to connect both the comms and digital expression of brands to drive commercial results.”

VMLY&R UK chief strategy officer Anna Vogt also told Campaign Live: “We looked high and low to find Kate and now she’s finally here. She’s a real powerhouse and will be our not-so-secret weapon in connecting a large group of strategists from different disciplines to deliver connected brand experiences.

“We feel enormously lucky to have found such a bright star who will no doubt harness the momentum and community in the department and agency.”
