US business magazine Fast Company has named London agency Saatchi & Saatchi in its global list of the world’s most innovative companies in 2023.

Placing 8th in the EMEA region, Saatchi & Saatchi’s involvement in numerous, highly-innovative projects throughout 2022 elicited strong praise from the publication – notably the positive societal impacts that these initiatives inspired.

In particular, Fast Company singled out the agency’s ‘Hope United’ campaign with EE which challenged online misogyny ahead of the 2022 Women’s Euros and its ‘Upriser’ initiative launched in partnership with ITV to help more young people enter the creative industries.

“It’s super important that a British creative company has been included on this list. It shows the renewed energy of the creative industry in this country, and makes a statement that London based talent can fight on a world stage,” Saatchi & Saatchi CEO, Chris Kay said.

“We’re proud of our crew, clients and partners, for how they have all helped to re-energise the famous Saatchi & Saatchi brand, and are incredibly grateful to Fast Company for the recognition.”

Significantly, Saatchi & Saatchi is not just the single British firm to make the regional top 10, it is also the only non-tech focused outfit to be featured on the list.

Fast Company editor-in-chief, Brendan Vaughan added: “What a strange and thrilling year it has been to honor this year’s Most Innovative Companies.”

“This year’s list compiles some of the most cutting-edge groundbreakers who are changing our world every single day, from legacy organisations like McDonald’s to upstarts like MrBeast and institutions such as NASA. Everyone on this list does something completely, uniquely different, yet, they all have one thing in common: innovation.”
