Low-carbon hospitality chain Easyhotel has today named a new head of marketing as part of a wider strengthening of its international team, announcing five new hires overall.

Daniel Thompson joins from property services firm FirstPort, having previously held senior marketing roles at Paramount and Iceland and will be tasked with maximising Easyhotel’s brand awareness and supporting cross-selling across the chain’s network of owned and franchised hotels.

The expansion of Easyhotel’s international team will enable it to build on 2022’s growth by maximising development opportunities across 2023.

“2022 saw easyHotel outperform the market, with like for like RevPar up 37% compared to FY2019, and I’m thrilled to be welcoming five new colleagues to continue this momentum in 2023. The new team members will significantly enhance our international capabilities as we seek to increase our presence across key European countries and deliver our aim to have 100 hotels open by 2026,” Easyhotel CEO, Karim Malak said.

“Last year the business saw strong financial results, introduced new hotels to the portfolio, as well as a support office in Paris, and launched a new design of our low-carbon rooms, in partnership with Saguez & Partners. 2023 is set to be an even bigger year as we expand further across Europe and implement low-carbon investment throughout the network. We are committed to providing guests with a super price, super sustainable and a super easy stay, whether that be for leisure or business travellers.”
