Welsh jewellery brand Clogau has this week appointed Manchester-based Smoking Gun PR as its lead media communications agency.

Famed for its connections with the British royal family, Clogau has retained Smoking Gun PR to oversee its strategic media relations in order to provide solid foundations for the brand’s expansion.

As the Welsh brand targets both physical and online growth, it will look to the marcomms agency to develop its national appeal as it aims to reach a wider audience.

Clogau will form part of Smoking Gun PR’s expanding lifestyle portfolio, which already includes firms such as Interflora and Landmans BBQ.

“We were looking for a long-term strategic partner that could demonstrate an impressive track record for growing the digital presence of lifestyle brands – and Smoking Gun delivered just that. Already the agency is making its mark with outstanding media profiling leading us into Christmas, our busiest sales period,” Clogau marketing manager, Matt Rycroft said.

The win follows on from a series of recent appointments for the agency, which now counts a wide range of businesses such as Alton Towers, Eurocamp, the NHS and Old J rum as clients.

Smoking Gun PR managing director, Rick Guttridge added: “Clogau is a long established and trusted brand which fits perfectly into our retained agency partner roster. We’ll be building on its stellar reputation while meeting the key challenge of introducing new customers to the brand.”
