Aardman appoints new sales and marketing manager to raise its profile within the marketing industry

Animation studio Aardman has appointed Lydia Gough as its new sales and marketing manager for agencies and brands.

Gough will be tasked with developing Aardman’s creative services to showcase the studio’s director and producer talent and world-famous animation techniques. The brand wishes to produce new opportunities through work for hire as well as content for campaigns linked to the production studio’s character brands.

The creation of the new role also highlights Aardman’s aim to raise its profile within the advertising and marketing industries and grow work in commercial and interactive spaces.

Gough’s appointment marks her return to Aardman having spent a year in the brand team working on global marketing activity for Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep.

Aardman’s sales and marketing division manages the financing, distribution and brand development of Aardman’s portfolio of brands, as well as the selling and marketing of creative services, commercials, short films and interactive production for third party clients. The studio’s most recent clients include Greenpeace, the Royal Mail, BBC One and Coldplay.

New sales and marketing manager has 10 years of experience in the creative industry having worked for M&C Saatchi, Wunderman Thompson, TMW Unlimited and Iris.

Gough herself added: “I am hugely excited to take up this new role at Aardman, supporting its creative services and working with agencies and brands to showcase the studio’s world class talent.

“Some of our most iconic productions have been work-for-hire — from our legendary music video for Peter Gabriel’s ‘Sledgehammer’, to our recent short film for Greenpeace — and I’m so excited to work with clients and agency partners to make work full of character!”
