Coach 3D billboard sees Lil Nas X reach out to Londoners

Coach has brought its Lil Nas X ‘Courage to Be Real’ campaign to London, unveiling a 3D billboard in Piccadilly Circus.

The campaign, featuring the brand’s rap ambassador, aims to promote confidence and a message about embracing all aspects of ‘your authentic self’.

Debuting on Piccadilly Lights in London’s Piccadilly Circus, the promotion tells the story of Lil Nas X’s ‘courageous evolution’ to become the icon he is today, and the obstacles he overcame along the way.

In the video, the musician enters several doors each representing the struggles he has faced in life – from fear and self-doubt, to judgment from others. The commercial ends with Lil Nas X looking over Piccadilly Circus while performing.

 

The brand aims to inspire the world to ‘transcend their limits’ and express all aspects of ‘who they really are’.

Coach used Ocean’s DeepScreen 3D technology to bring the animation to life and to create an illusion of Lil Nas x moving out of the screen towards members of the public on the streets.

3D billboards have recently been described as “the new wave of OOH advertising” by Ethan Jakab, cofounder of Blunt Action, the production studio that designed the recent 2 Chainz 3D billboard.
