Independent advertising agency Special Group has this week made two senior appointments, with Emily Harlock joining as partner and chief strategy officer alongside Jack Nunn, who joins as creative director.
The new hires are set to bolster the London office’s leadership team, with both reporting in to partner and CEO, Jennifer Black.
Harlock joins Special Group from London agency The&Partnership, where she also worked as partner and chief strategy officer. Harlock had previously held a variety of senior roles across her 12-year spell at AMV BBDO.
On her appointment, Harlock said: “Special is an amazing agency doing the most exciting creative work anywhere in the world, with a wonderful culture to boot.

“Bringing that combination to London is an extraordinary proposition for both ambitious clients and brilliant people. I couldn’t be more excited to help shape the agency here.”
Nunn re-joins after almost two years working for DDB Australia – prior to which he had spent six years at Special Group’s Sydney headquarters, rising to creative director.
Upbeat about linking up with his old agency, Nunn added: “It sounds corny, but to be able to rejoin Special Group is exactly that – special.
“Having spent six years with the agency in Sydney, I got a front row seat to witness just how ridiculously talented and nice the team are. I can’t wait to work alongside a phenomenal leader like Jen who has an amazing vision for us here in London. It’s exciting.”
