Conservative MP cocktails: Down at the Social agency matches a drink to each Tory leadership candidate

PR, marketing and social media agency, Down at the Social, has matched a series of cocktails to the eight Conservative MPs remaining in the Conservative Party leadership race.

Branding the Westminster situation as ‘the most dramatic time in UK politics since Boris Johnson came into power’, Down at the Social has designed eight cocktails to be served whether ‘you are celebrating, or indeed commiserating’ with the outcome of the Conservative leadership race on 5 September.

Kicking off with Rishi Sunak, the agency have coupled the ex-Chancellor of the Exchequer with the Cuba Libre after his admittance of being a ‘a total Coke addict’ (Coca-Cola). Meanwhile, Penny Mordaunt, Minister of State, has been teamed with a Pornstar Martini with what Down at the Social has referred to as ‘a PM for a PM’.

The list continues by deciding that Jeremy Hunt is best suited to a simple Gin and Tonic, Tom Tugendhat to a French 75 Cocktail and Kemi Badenoch to a Manchester Swizzle.

The only agency original on the list belongs to ‘staunch Brexiteer’ Suella Braverman, who has been paired with a ‘British Lemonade’ consisting of ‘Raspberry Gin Liquer, blue curacao and grenadine’.

Liz Truss, Minister for Women and Equalities, has also been matched with what Down at the Social has called ‘the trending drink of Summer 2022’ – a Martini.

To finish off Nadhim Zahawi has also been ironically aligned with a ‘fun Aperol Spritz’ due to his ‘hard line attitude’ in regards to tax.
