Fridays has unveiled a new commercial partnership with both Dundee football clubs following the opening of its first takeaway-only proposition, ‘Fridays and Go’ in the city.

Located just off the high street, players from both sides came together for the store’s launch event in March. The US fast-food outfit’s landmark partnership with bitter rivals Dundee United FC and Dundee FC is intended to strengthen the brand’s relationship with the Angus city.

As a results of the partnership, the restaurant chain will become an official sponsor of both clubs for the upcoming season. Both team’s grounds are famously located just over 300 yards apart, whilst Fridays and Go’s new restaurant is located less than a mile from both stadiums.

Fridays and Go will feature as the Dundee United women’s shirt sleeve sponsor, as well the official manager’s interview sponsor for both the men’s and women’s sides. The brand will also feature as Dundee’s short sponsor and will sponsor the digital team sheet release prior to every game.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with these two clubs to celebrate the launch of the world’s first Fridays And Go and can’t wait to continue to spread that Fridays Feeling further across Scotland and the rest of the UK, as a result.”

Dundee United FC head of commercial and sponsorships, Elliot Shaw added: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Fridays And Go as an associate partner of the club. It is great news for the city and I am sure that this will be a highly beneficial partnership for both Dundee United and Fridays.”

Dundee FC commercial and marketing executive, Rachael Strachan commented: “Dundee Football Club are delighted to be working on this new venture in partnership with the world- renowned brand and wish Fridays And Go all the best and every success for the future with their flagship store based in Dundee.”
