The next-day delivery household essentials service, Bother, has announced that it will air its “first-ever” TV campaign later this month.

The advertisement intends to showcase how the company delivers cupboard basics the next day, “with no delivery charge and no need for a delivery slot”.

The news comes alongside the recent claim that the start-up doubles its growth every 45 days.

“The brand has been one of the fastest growing start-ups in recent times, with only a 10th of the capital of the Q Commerce players,” Bother said.

“Just shy of two years since they first launched into UK households, Bother aims to further grow the category it has created by adding brand investment to its marketing mix.”

The advertisement itself “brings to life the needy household cupboards of a young couple’s home”. The offbeat tone of the video comes to a halt when the pair take “a load off their mind” and discover a “smarter way to shop” with Bother.

The delivery service added: “The move into TV advertising, by the certified B Corp, is another signal of the brand’s growth ambitions.”

“Bother has raised $12m to date with Hoxton Ventures, the investment firm that backed Deliveroo early on, leading the last round.”

The campaign will run for 6 weeks from 21 April and will target London audiences on Channel 4 and All 4. It will also have an out-of-home presence on the London Underground network, direct mail, and digital and social media.

Bother founder and CEO, Douglas Morton said: ”Our new creative approach highlights the fact that Bother is not a shop, it’s a convenient service that ultimately helps take a ‘load off your’ mind by helping you keep on top of all the household essentials like pasta, loo roll, laundry powder and toiletries.”

“We all know that nagging feeling that we’re running low on something, or the frustration of getting caught short. Bother’s service is about learning what you want and need and helping make sure you never run out.”
